Welcome to Stone Lodge Academy

Stop Press – Quality Assurance Review –  highlights significant improvements across all aspects of Stone Lodge Academy

Stone Lodge Academy in Ipswich provides specialist education for children and young people across Key Stages 1, 2, 3 and 4 who have complex barriers to their learning. Students with complex social, emotional and communication difficulties come to us for individualised learning when they are unable to access a mainstream curriculum. Our aim is to provide a structured approach to learning which takes account of the learning styles and developmental stages of each individual, building on their strengths to maximise potential for the future.

Learning takes place in a purpose-built school which provides specialist working environments and a vast outdoor area with playing fields and play equipment designed to meet the sensory needs of our pupils. Achieving skills, developing communication and solving problems help all our students to become well-rounded, independent people. The needs of each student are identified and together with their families, carers and other key professionals we aim to help them become the best they can be. Day trips to enrich the curriculum, activity holidays and work experience all extend learning to beyond the classroom, widen horizons and develop greater confidence and self-esteem.
